Hello! I’m Gonic and I’ll be helping FastFeet with the website. I’m very happy to be helping in a sonic/sega community! For my first post I am going to talk (or type in the literal sense) about what I think of the Sonic the Hedgehog 4 soundtrack.
As we all know Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 1 is meant to reboot the sonic series back to its glory days of the Sega Mega Drive (Genesis for some people who may be reading this). To my surprise this also included the soundtrack for the game too. I was very happy to hear this as I was a huge fan of all the old chip tune sonic music. But have now listened to the sonic 4 soundtrack, I’m not at all impressed with most of the songs on their besides Splash Hill Zone Act 1 and the Invincible tune. They lack the impact all the original sonic game’s had as the music from the game’s would remain in your head for a fair amount of time. Unfortunately the sonic 4 soundtrack does not have this impact as nearly all the songs are forgettable which is very surprising for a sonic game. Remember this is how I see the soundtrack, you may think differently than I do but overall I was not at all impressed with sonic’s 4 soundtrack.
Thank you for reading!
Gonic

Those of you who know me well will know that I’m a Windows person through and through, however I’m not against Apple in any shape or form in fact I finally took the plunge recently and got an iPhone. However due to one of the most idiotic decisions that I’ve seen in a long time I feel I have to voice my opinion on this matter for the sake of the web if anything. Recently Apple have stated that Adobe’s Flash format is somwhat of a ‘closed format’ and is unsuitable for the web to move forward technically.
So much so that they say that Apples own media formats are better than Adobes Flash format. What do I say to this? – Bollocks… It’s been well established for a long time now that Flash is an immensly powerful tool for animation, video and interactive media as a whole. Without Flash we wouldn’t have those kick ass Newgrounds animations, YouTube wouldn’t be what it is today and the web would be a very different place. And by different I mean boring to the point it makes your eyes BLEED.
My problem and many other web developers is that Apple will not include Flash on iPhone or iPod formats and no doubt other formats in the future because they think they’re better, these mobile formats are the future and they need to be as open as possible. Well they’ve overstepped the mark in this case. Adobes response has been to place lots of advertising in big publications both on and offline saying we (heart) Apple, what they really mean is we hate apple as a tongue in cheek type joke.
If a company goes to the extent to advertise they hate another major company you know someones talking bullshit, and right now it’s firmly coming from Apple. So the next time you open iTunes or use your iPod/iPhone and think twice about the assholes who are trying to make the web a more boring and uncreative place. See what BBC News have to say on the matter for more info.

Welcome podcast enthusiasts, it may be a day late but we have Sunday’s FoneMix show now ready to download direct from FastFeet Media, you can expect the enhanced version to appear on RadioSEGA very soon. An interesting show as this week we start the Sounds Like SEGA segment that we talked about in last weeks announcement, we had a few entries but we’d like to see a lot more from you guys regarding what song you think sounds like a SEGA game…
Sure is simple; just post a comment back here, on twitter (@fastfeetmedia) or e-mail me (fastfeet@fastfeetmedia.net). Let us know the artist and track name or better yet link us to a good version of the song on YouTube why not. Those of you wondering what songs appeared in Sounds Like SEGA in episode 3 they are listed in order below:
Pendulum – Watercolor
She – Memories
The Egg – Walk Away
The Feeling – I Thought It Was Over
Mint Royale – Singing In The Rain
Hello Seattle – Owl City/Ocean Eyes
So let us know what you think Sounds Like SEGA and you may appear in this Sundays live show and of course in the podcast! Hopefully we’ll be getting some more updates on FastFeet Media shortly.

Well despite a break from the FoneMix last Sunday the show returned to the airwaves of RadioSEGA as normal last night. As usual I was joined by SJSSF/Scott and SoundReaper, along with the additional crew of the callers throughout the show. Plenty of the usual SEGA and Sonic banter as usual in the FoneMix, we also ask the question cofee or tea? and talk about what the hell is going on in the community.
As part of the show I reminded everyone of ‘Sounds Like Sonic’ that I did a small feature on last series. Basically we want to know the names of your favourite tracks that sound like Sonic or SEGA music. We’ll then compile them into a short mix of clips and showcase the best ones on the next episode of the FoneMix. So if you think something sounds like Sonic/SEGA let us know by commenting below and you never know you might be in next weeks show!

O hai. If you’re a regular listener to RadioSEGA (the live shows, in particular), then you’ll be familiar with the now infamous “Trial” live show in absence of FastFeet’s FoneMix. However, you may also be familiar with remixes by someone known to most as Mr Stream. Well, I wonder…
Inspired by Gavvie’s ‘Songs for Sonic’ remix album released earlier this year, I thought I would have a go at remixing some well- and lesser- known Sonic music. The result is ‘Act 1′, a 10 track album containing remixes of tracks from earlier games such as Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Mega Drive), Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic CD.

Hello once again to you all, those of you who tuned into RadioSEGA on Sunday will have noticed my absence apparently due to “having my face blown off by explosive tits” according to the show that replaced the FoneMix.
Whilst I wasn’t impressed with what replaced the show, it still sounded like somewhat of a laugh, and goes to show if you want a quality SEGA radio show instead of “super monkey bollocks” then you need FastFeet at the helm! Sundays outing is available to grab from RadioSEGA if you need your weekly podcast fix.
In other news the show will be back for episode 2 this Sunday, so don’t forget to add ‘fonemix’ to your Skype contacts. FastFeet Media will be taking a slight back seat whilst I work on a new SEGA related project to be launched soon, along with some other tasty web projects that need my expertise. But for now, I’m up over and goooone!

Tonight marks the return of the FastFeet Media Podcast, however we thought that giving it that name was well, a little basic if anything. Since the final show at the end of 2009 we’ve had time to re-work the format of the new show. To start with the show will always be broadcasted live on air at our good friends at RadioSEGA. You can listen in to the show by clicking here.
The show is now known as FastFeet’s FoneMix and will be live on air 9PM UK Time (essentially GMT+1 now us Brits are in British Summer Time). Where we’ll be playing the best mix of SEGA and Sonic the Hedgehog music but with an added twist this time. You, the listener, can call into the show and have your say. How? Read on below…
Calling into FastFeet’s FoneMix
All you need to call into the show is Skype, a decent Microphone and pair of Headphones. The way the show will work is you will need to add the Skype user ‘ fonemix‘ to your account. Once we accept the request try calling in, if we answer the phone – great! But be ready as there’s a good chance that you will be on air straight away, oh and don’t forget to switch the radio/TV or any other background noise off otherwise we’ll have to disconnect you. And that goes double for idiots, if you plan to call in to mess us about we’ll kindly cut you off and block you. We wanna have some fun with you guys and have a good ol’ chat so play nice.
Interact in other ways
If you can’t call in but still want to be part of the fun you can join the #RadioSEGA IRC Chat Room. More information is at the bottom of RadioSEGA’s show page here. We’ll be in the chat room to discuss everything that’s going on and don’t forget that you can request any music as well, we have it all pretty much!
If you miss a show you’ll still be able to find the podcast 24 hours later here on FastFeet Media in MP3 format and on RadioSEGA in enhanced AAC format. But this is a show you’ll want to be a part of, hopefully we’ll see you all tonight and every Sunday, but before we go here’s some quick links to help you get involved in the show!

Microsoft’s stupid advertising campaign for Internet Explorer has annoyed the hell out of me in recent weeks – so as of now I am saying if you use Internet Explorer it really is time for a change! Internet Explorer is a massive FAIL as far as I am concerned along with the majority of the world as it’s NOT the most widely used browser in the world and hasn’t been for a while.. This is 2010 people not 1995!
Not only is Internet Explorer the most unsafest browser out there it doesn’t show pages correctly either when you’re browsing the web (what good is that?!). So hey why not make life easier for yourself and use a better browser?
I’d recommend anything that isn’t Internet Explorer but my vote goes to Mozilla Firefox, being very safe, fast and versatile for a web browser cloesly followed by Google Chrome.
Music & Video
Whilst we’re on the topic of software I will say now that for music and video I recommend using Winamp, however I know everyone prefers their own media program to some extent. FastFeet Media will continue to use MP3 as the standard for music, but we will be using DivX for video files if you choose to download them, we choose this because DivX creates nice small files – easy for downloading and you still great quality even with HD video files.
But on that not if you think what I’ve just said is utter rubbish and you think we should be offering our downloads in another format please let us know in the comments below so we can improve your music and video experience from FastFeet Media. Meanwhile I’m off to put 4,000 bullet holes through Internet Explorer until the next update!

Today marks a special occasion as for the first time in the Sonic and indeed the Sega community there will be a dualcast. What the hell is that I hear you ask… well a dualcast is a radio show where a DJ will broadcast to 2 radio stations at the same time. The show in question is Radio Redux brought to you by Sonic Wrecks and Echo Hawk and whilst this is season 5 the show is getting better all the time.
If you want to listen to the dual cast of Radio Redux you can find a high quality broadcast with plenty of listener slots over at our very good friends RadioSEGA, you can also find the other broadcast over at our other good friends SEGASonic:Radio.
Radio Redux airs at 7PM UK Time every Sunday so don’t forget to tune in every Sunday over on RadioSEGA!
