I thought it was time for some updates regarding the website, for those of you with sharp observation skills you will have noticed that the website is now broken up into different categories that suit our cause for the better hopefully.

The website is now broken up into the Home Zone, Downloads, Music, Videos and last but not least, Public Access. Home Zone is where you can find all of the latest information in the community, the podcast as well as all of our articles. The Downloads section is quite obvious; it’s there for you all to download our massive archive of files simple as that. But the 3 newer sections are the most interesting additions the website has had in quite some time.

The Music, Videos and Public Access sections are all powered by a system called the ‘Media Center’, essentially what that means is that these areas work on a ‘YouTube’ like premise as they all hold archives of music or video. You can watch or listen to all of the content in these new sections – all you need is Adobe Flash Player. Notably you can also comment, rate (out of 5), download and share ALL music and video.

Finally there’s Public Access. What’s Public Access?? Well this is the section of the website which is all about you! Think of it as the community area, but with the added bonus that you can upload your own music and video you have created and get it shown in a Sega and Sonic specific directory for all to see with credit. Currenty it is in beta form but does work, so feel free to give it a try out. Oh and you don’t have to be a member to use these facilities – anyone can enjoy them, but bear in mind we will only place suitable content online as it moderated. Also don’t forget that Public Access also facilitates the Chatroom as well as our new forums (coming soon) and these are the best ways of meeting people in the community.

To say the least this is going to fuel an explosion of new media appearing on the website both from Segas past and present but also from you – the viewer!

100,000 Downloads and counting!

Apart from the new additions to the website a few other things are worth noting: our downloads section has had over 100,000 downloads since it re-launched last year, which is a tidy little landmark for the site because I don’t think that’s ever happened before! I also know there are many of you who are begging fora new podcast episode to be released. Don’t worry I’ve just been busy building recently, so I will arrange another one for you all to download with another couple of random guests no doubt.

All I will leave you with is the thought that a lot of exciting things are starting to happen right now, which can only lead to good results.
