Yes, yes I know it’s been a while since last years Summer of Sonic convention but for some us (including me) it takes a while to get around to editing video. Fellow big shot in the community, renouned for his skills in artwork and a-capella music Elson ‘Darkspeeds’ Wong managed to spare a few minutes to talk to FastFeet about Sonic, the music and DJ-ing at Summer of Sonic. The video shows a nice tour of of the convention with the interview of FastFeet at 3:30 in. Big kudos to Darkspeeds, we’ll have our Summer of Sonic vids up very soon – enjoy this vid in the meantime!

To follow up the Summer of Sonic convention there is no finer way then having a podcast. But what makes this podcast special is that we gathered 7 people together at once, 6 of which attended Summer of Sonic.
Not only is this a ‘must download’ podcast but we have finally been joined by the likes of Elson Wong, Phil Sims and James Maloney – otherwise known as darkspeeds, Vger and JJ4eva in the community. So sit back and enjoy episode 7, 3 more left until the end of series 1!

Yes that’s right my Sonic-media hungry friends. Whilst SegaSonic:Radio recorded all 6 hours of the days events from the stage, it wasn’t in a good enough quality to simply hand over to you guys. So out of the kindness of my heart I went through the entire recording and re-compiled/edited it so it’s a bit more listener friendly shall we say.
Unfortunately there are some piano noises throughout the recording and there’s nothing we can do, blame Roareye from SSN for that one as he left his “musical” screensaver on! The recording includes the Bentley Jones Live performances, Nevermind the Buzzbombers, Sonic the Comic Q&A, Sumo Digital Q&A, the Sonic Hour (with cosplay) and DJ sets from Turbo, FastFeet, Bman and T-Bird. Around 6 hours long and roughly 300Mb. Finally if anyone wants it in 2 parts let me know and I’ll get my trusty FFM scalpel out. Enjoy!

Well it’s been exactly a week since the Summer of Sonic 2009 International Sonic the Hedgehog convention so I thought I’d sit down a write up a tasty little blog entry based on what happened at, during and after the event itself. After all we have placed the photos online but me telling you about everything that happened is another thing, although you’ll be able to catch more of this on the FFM Podcast (Sunday nights @8PM GMT).
Friday
After once again staying up most of the night before to burn off CDs (137 to be precise) to be used at another gaming convention, I was up and ready to make my way on another nice long journey. I mean by comparison I spent 7 odd hours getting to Northampton for Insert Coin, whereas I only had a 4 hour coach trip this time so it wasn’t quite as bad. What was bad was getting to the hotel from London Victoria fortunately I had a partner with me who was quite well vexed in the ways of Sonic. Maria Robotnik of Black Hero joined me for the event as I decided to help her get to England and the convention of course.

So it’s been a couple of days since the one and only Summer of Sonic International Sonic the Hedgehog Convention, to give it it’s full title. What can I say? It was an incredible event and it’s hard to know which was better the 2008 or 2009 convention as they both had their charms.
Anyway, for the moment FastFeet Media will be kicking off it’s Summer of Sonic 2009 coverage with a nice and sizable gallery of iamges from the day, most of which are actually stills from the upcoming series 2 of SEGASonic:TV. So have a good browse as there will be plenty more entries and things to check out right here at FFM.
Note: If you wish to browse the photos in gallery mode wait for all thumbnails to load, then click on one.

Yes, for the first time ever we can say that the worlds one and only Sonic the Hedgehog convention is returning this year. Over the last couple of days the official website for Summer of Sonic has re-emerged back at its usual web address: www.summerofsonic.com. The date is (as far as I know) set for Saturday August 29th 2009 in London and doesn’t seem likely to change anytime soon.
What I would recommend at this time is that if you are going or are thinking of going to the event is that you make your final decision soon-ish and start to make travel arrangements as the event does fall on August bank holiday weekend, especially if you are travelling from abroad.
