Following on from our birthday celebrations from yesterday we sort of went on and on until we had a podcast, hey it was about time! This episode is called the ‘Belated Birthday’ episode as the podcast is or isn’t just after Sonic’s birthday depending on how you look at it. I’m joined by guest DivRank this time round, an ex-staff member and general fanatic.
We talk through the updates in the news, this years Summer of Sonic updates, I give you a brief tour of FastFeet Media as well as some of new features that are on offer. We also play some of the best Sonic tunes made as well as the worst remix ever made as well as all the usual banter from myself. It’s worth checking out this podcast at nearly an hour and a half long (we’ll try keeping it a little shorter next time!).

This is what I’d conider to be the second Sonic the Hedgehog compilation album with the 10th Anniversary collectors disc being the first. What’s great about this album is that, as a second compliation should, encompass all of the more recent tracks which are definetely worth a shout. Listen in to some of the best Sonic the Hedgehog music below, you can also download True Blue: The Best of Sonic the Hedgehog here.

Now this is a rare gem, if you happen to own the boxset that is! The 10th anniversary boxset available to only a limited number of people who bought Sonic Adventure 2 on the Dreamcast received a boxset which contains a special history booklet, a Sonic coin and this special audio CD. You’d be lucky to get one nowadays but even if you can’t you can enjoy the best music tracks of Sonics first 10 years on the gaming scene, also available to download from FastFeet Media right here.

Yep it’s that magic time of year again, nope not Christmas – it’s Sonic the Hedgehogs birthday. It’s been 18 years since the original title was released on the Mega Drive. I’ve heard of a few events happening throughout today ranging from people eating cake that they’ve made for the special day over to Sega running some birthday compos too.
Today we’re celebrating by adding media that has a special significance to Sonic, so far we’ve added the 10th Anniversary album that was released in limited numbers. It is now available to listen to and download. That’s the first of our updates but there are more still to come today, so keep an eye out as there’s plenty more to come today!

Yep, it’s done. It has taken me an astonishing amount of time to finish the FastFeet Media website (now on version 9). For quite some time now I’ve been trying to mold and shape it into a website that I personally am happy with, I couldn’t tell you how many hours or days it has taken but it has been worth it as not only am I happy with everything on the website but I’d like to think that all of you are too.
Why is this significant? One simple reason; it means that all we have to do now is add updates on the website in the shape of features, music, videos, user content (well that’s more your end!) and everything else. No more time will be spent on building the website…

I thought it was time for some updates regarding the website, for those of you with sharp observation skills you will have noticed that the website is now broken up into different categories that suit our cause for the better hopefully.
The website is now broken up into the Home Zone, Downloads, Music, Videos and last but not least, Public Access. Home Zone is where you can find all of the latest information in the community, the podcast as well as all of our articles. The Downloads section is quite obvious; it’s there for you all to download our massive archive of files simple as that. But the 3 newer sections are the most interesting additions the website has had in quite some time.

Yes, for the first time ever we can say that the worlds one and only Sonic the Hedgehog convention is returning this year. Over the last couple of days the official website for Summer of Sonic has re-emerged back at its usual web address: www.summerofsonic.com. The date is (as far as I know) set for Saturday August 29th 2009 in London and doesn’t seem likely to change anytime soon.
What I would recommend at this time is that if you are going or are thinking of going to the event is that you make your final decision soon-ish and start to make travel arrangements as the event does fall on August bank holiday weekend, especially if you are travelling from abroad.

Before the days of the Xbox and Project Gotham Racing came Metropolis Street Racer. The one and only and it all started off on the Dreamcast, funny how so many great ideas came from a blue swirl and have now migrated onto the current-gen of consoles. Anyway, whilst there weren’t a huge array of tracks to listen to on MSR, you could completely customise your soundtrack for one of the first times in a video game and you can also find some classic Sega tunes amongst them too. Listen below or download here.

Classic tunes from a classic era. Sonic the Hedgehog 1 on the Mega Drive features some extremely well known music in the video games community and whilst Green Hill Zone is an obvious one, mine is Starlight Zone although it’s all good at the end of the day! There’s plenty more Sonic the Hedgehog music on offer at FastFeet Media here (in fact practically all of it!) or you can just grab the Sonic the Hedgehog Mega Drive rip here.

Although it may have seemed as though nothing has been happening on the website as of late, to the regulars that means only one thing: I’ve gone and found my hammer and I’ve been building and constructing stuff in my back shed, for FastFeet Media of course. The new media additions to FastFeet Media have been split up into their corresponding areas: music, video and live media.
The videos area isn’t quite ready to go live yet as I have a few final tweaks to make, but for those of you who fancy a beta test of the videos section, you can click here to be taken straight to it. What I will say is that this the closest thing to a Sega/Sonic the Hedgehog specific YouTube there is on the interweb, you can vote and comment on videos as well as downloading them so please let us know what you think of the videos that are available. More updates coming soon, thought I would just drop off a new toy for you all to play with!
